Tom Cruise stunned the audience with a surprise visit to the Royal Albert Hall in London during a special orchestral concert for the film 'Top Gun: Maverick', reported People. In fan-recorded footage shared on X, Cruise, dressed in a suit, introduced the film and praised the live score performance.

Lorne Balfe, who co-composed the film's score with renowned artists Hans Zimmer, Harold Faltermeyer, and Lady Gaga, received special recognition from Cruise. Onstage, Cruise described Balfe as a 'dear friend' and 'brilliant.'

'I also want to thank tonight's orchestra and all of your exceptional talents,' Cruise said. 'I've always wanted to experience a film like this with a live, full symphony orchestra, synchronized to picture, in front of a packed audience in the grandeur of a classic movie palace.' Cruise concluded by thanking the audience and encouraging them to enjoy the experience, noting he would be watching along with them.

According to Royal Albert Hall's website, the 'Top Gun' orchestral performance is part of their Films in Concert series, which will also feature upcoming showings of 'Avatar,' 'Gladiator,' 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2' and 'Home Alone.' The next live concert in the series will be 'Ghostbusters' on October 26, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Peter Bernstein, son of the original composer Elmer Bernstein.

'Top Gun: Maverick,' a 2022 action drama directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, and Christopher McQuarrie, is the sequel to the 1986 film 'Top Gun.' Tom Cruise reprises his iconic role as naval aviator Maverick, with a cast that includes Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, and Val Kilmer, among others. (ANI)
