Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led Central government on Thursday, following revelations that India's top drugs regulatory body discovered substandard quality in samples of around 50 drugs.

The Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation (CDSCO) reported that the substandard drugs include commonly used medications such as paracetamol, pantoprazole, and various antibiotics for bacterial infections.

In a strongly worded post on social media platform X, Yadav accused the BJP government of corruption and questioned whether taking these substandard medicines would cure illnesses or worsen people's health. He criticized the ongoing business of low-quality medicines due to political donations and condemned the government's inaction.
