Tragic Accident Near Mandakini River: One Dead, 13 Injured
A pilgrim died and 13 others were injured when their car plunged into a gorge near Uttarakhand's Mandakini river. Five of the injured were seriously hurt and airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh. The incident occurred while the pilgrims were traveling from Sonprayag to Gaurikund in Kedarnath.

One pilgrim died and 13 others were injured on Wednesday when their car fell into a gorge close to the Mandakini river in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district, officials said.
The car, which was en route from Sonprayag to Gaurikund in Kedarnath, plummeted about 70 meters down the road, according to a statement from the state emergency operations center.
Police, SDRF, and NDRF personnel quickly responded, rescuing all the injured and rushing them to various hospitals. Five seriously injured individuals were airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh, while four others received treatment at the district hospital in Rudraprayag. Those with minor injuries were discharged after receiving first aid at Sonprayag hospital. The pilgrims were from West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
