A tragic turn of events unfolded in Katni district, Madhya Pradesh, as a Class 9 student drowned while taking a bath in the Katae Ghat river. The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon under the jurisdiction of Madhav Nagar police station, according to authorities.

The student, Harshit Tiwari, aged 14, had skipped school along with five friends to visit the river. Unfortunately, Harshit became trapped in deep waters soon after entering, leading to his untimely death.

Local residents immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the scene and retrieved the boy from the water. He was transported to a district hospital, but doctors could only pronounce him dead on arrival.
