Actor Pratibha Ranta's 2024 will be forever memorable, starring in diverse projects such as 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' and 'Laapataa Ladies'. The Film Federation of India announced Monday that 'Laapataa Ladies' will be India's official entry for the Oscars 2025, earning Ranta and the film critical acclaim.

Overflowing with excitement, Pratibha shared her gratitude with ANI. "I love this feeling… we were not expecting it but we were definitely hoping. Today it finally happened. In a day or two, I will meet Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan. I'm grateful… Can't describe this feeling in words," she said.

Directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the film, released on March 1, 2024, also stars Sparsh, Nitanshi Goel, Ravi Kishan, and Chhaya Kadam. 'Laapataa Ladies' unfolds in rural India circa 2001, weaving the tale of two brides swapped during a train journey, with their husbands embarking on a quest to find the real bride. This emotional and culturally rich narrative has struck a chord with many.

Kiran Rao also expressed her joy, saying, "I am very happy. Now we have a chance to show this film to a much larger audience. The film was made on issues, expectations, and aspirations of women. When such a film becomes the country's official entry to the Oscars, it is very encouraging. It feels like we are heading towards solving many women's issues. Although the path to the Oscars is long and hard, we will try our best," Rao added.
