India's chess teams made history by clinching gold in both the men's and women's categories at the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest. Guiding these young talents was Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, who laid a strong foundation through his Westbridge Anand Chess Academy (WACA).
In the open section, the Indian team, featuring World Championship challenger D Gukesh, R Praggnanandhaa, Arjun Erigaisi, Vidit Gujrathi, and P Harikrishna, surpassed top seeds USA and Uzbekistan. Their exceptional performance solidified India's dominance in the chess world.
The women's team, consisting of Harika Dronavalli, R Vaishali, Divya Deshmukh, Vantika Agrawal, and Tania Sachdev, outshone Kazakhstan and the USA to claim the top honors. Anand's mentorship and the cohesive support system at WACA were crucial in these groundbreaking achievements.
