Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an address to Indian-Americans in New York, stated that India plays no part in global destruction, subtly criticizing the West. He remarked that India, with 17% of the world's population, contributes less than 4% to global carbon emissions.
Modi highlighted India's green energy initiatives, noting the creation of numerous green jobs. Emphasizing India's minuscule carbon footprint, he contrasted it with the world's largest emitters, including China and the US. He attributed India's commitment to nature conservation to its traditions.
The Prime Minister also lauded India's digital advancements and the growing number of educational institutions, inviting international students to study in India. He noted that while Indian-Americans carry physical wallets, Indians utilize digital wallets, driven by 'Made in India' technology.
