Top Military Officials Take Flight in Tejas During Major Exercise
The Vice Chiefs of India's Army, Navy, and Air Force flew in the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas for the first time during the 'Tarang Shakti' exercise at Jodhpur Air Force Station. The Vice Chiefs of all three armed forces participated in a significant milestone as they flew in the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas for the first time during 'Tarang Shakti,' a multilateral exercise hosted at Jodhpur Air Force Station, according to an official statement released on Monday.
The notable event saw Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal A.P. Singh, Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, and Vice Chief of Army Lieutenant General N.S. Raja Subramani arriving at the Jodhpur Airbase. They boarded the Tejas fighter jets, with Air Marshal A.P. Singh piloting the single-seater version while the Navy and Army Vice Chiefs flew in the twin-seater trainer variant.
'Tarang Shakti' aims to boost interoperability among participating forces from eight nations, including India, and has 16 observer countries monitoring the exercise. Defence spokesperson Col Amitabh Sharma stated that the event, India's largest multinational exercise hosted by the IAF, will also feature a defence expo from September 12 to 14 to promote India's indigenously manufactured military assets globally.
