Tragic Drowning of Four Girls Mars Religious Outing in Madhya Pradesh
Four young girls, aged between 9 and 13, tragically drowned in a pond in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh district. They were attending a religious function when the incident occurred. The girls were identified as Maya Lodhi, Rajeshwari Lodhi, Princy Singh, and Ragini Lodhi, who attempted to save the others but perished.

Four young girls, aged between 9 and 13, drowned in a pond on Sunday evening in Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place in the Bundelkhand region, according to an official statement.
Nohta police station in-charge Arvind Singh Lodhi revealed that the girls had visited a temple near Doomar village with their parents for a religious event. Around 6 pm, three of the girls — Maya Lodhi (9), Rajeshwari Lodhi (12), and Princy Singh (12) — entered a nearby pond and began to sink.
Ragini Lodhi (13) attempted to rescue them by jumping into the water but, unfortunately, all four drowned. Their bodies have been retrieved and autopsies will be conducted on Monday, the official added. A probe into the circumstances of the drowning is ongoing.
