The Hamburg Sustainability Conference, scheduled for October 7-8, will gather experts from around the globe to exchange ideas and innovations aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will inaugurate the high-profile event.
Speaking to PTI, Uwe Gehlen, Head of Development Cooperation at the German Embassy in India, highlighted Germany's significant contribution toward helping India meet its renewable energy targets by 2030. Gehlen attended the International Solar Festival in India and participated in a panel on financing renewable energy.
He stressed the importance of the forthcoming Hamburg conference as a platform for new alliances among business leaders, policymakers, and society to advance SDG implementation. The conference comes just ahead of Chancellor Scholz's key visit to India in October for discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on enhancing bilateral trade and economic relations.
