Malayalam actor Vinayakan was detained by the RGI Airport police on Saturday under the city police act. The detention followed a complaint that he behaved rudely with the gate staff at the airport.
According to the police, Vinayakan, allegedly in an inebriated state, argued with the gate staff of an airline. The incident occurred as he was traveling from Kochi to Goa via Hyderabad. The gate staff handed him over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
Vinayakan, known for his roles in films like 'Kammatipaadam' and 'Thottappan', is expected to be released after questioning. The actor hails from Kochi and gained acclaim for his role as a villain in the Rajinikanth-starrer 'Jailer'.
