Spain's Guardia Civil police discovered a young man's body on Friday in Mallorca's mountainous region, where search efforts were ongoing for a missing British hiker. His partner's body was found earlier this week after a severe storm struck the island.
Emergency services have been scouring the area near the Torrent de Pareis canyon in the Tramuntana mountains since Wednesday, following reports of two Britons missing due to flash floods. On Wednesday, the lifeless body of a woman was recovered.
The Torrent de Pareis, a UNESCO world heritage site, is renowned for its scenic day walks. The hiking route, which begins in the heart of the Tramuntana range and ends at a sandy beach, is rated medium/high in difficulty and is prone to flash floods between autumn and spring.
