Oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams is taking on a dual role as producer and star in 'Lazy Susans,' a comedy film from 20th Century Studios, Deadline reports. The script, crafted by Oscar nominees Annie Mumolo and Stan Chervin, revolves around a group of mothers who form a rock band.

The story draws inspiration from the real-life Boston-based band, The Lazy Susans, which formed during the Covid-19 pandemic. Adams, along with Stacy O'Neil, Vivek J Tiwary, and Jack Leslie of TEG+, will produce the film. Adams recently finished shooting Taika Waititi's sci-fi film 'Klara and the Sun' and the drama 'At the Sea'. She is also set to appear in 'Nightbitch,' Marielle Heller's adaptation of the 2021 novel by Rachel Yoder.

Adams boasts an impressive resume with two Golden Globe Awards and a slew of nominations, including six Academy Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, and two Primetime Emmy Awards. Notable roles include 'Catch Me If You Can', 'Junebug', 'Enchanted', 'The Fighter', and 'American Hustle'. She continues to expand her diverse portfolio with projects like 'Disenchanted' and 'Dear Evan Hansen'. On the TV front, Adams starred in the miniseries 'Sharp Objects'. Meanwhile, Annie Mumolo recently starred opposite Anne Hathaway in Michael Showalter's rom-com 'The Idea of You', Deadline reports.
