Representing the PBG Alaskan Knights, Giri faces a formidable line-up including Magnus Carlsen of Alpine SG Pipers, Hikaru Nakamura from American Gambits, and Viswanathan Anand of Ganges Grandmasters.

'The line-up is absolutely stacked this time. My board is going to be insanely strong,' Giri commented.

This marks Giri's first appearance at the GCL after missing last year due to scheduling conflicts. 'I am thrilled to be part of the event this year,' he said, sharing his excitement about competing in one of the world's most spectacular cities, London. Discussing the GCL format, Giri expressed optimism about its potential to elevate the chess sport.
