At least 12 people were injured after a makeshift tent collapsed during a religious gathering in Bihar's Saran district on Wednesday, police confirmed. The incident occurred around 3 am as a religious procession was making its way through the Hishua area, according to a senior police official.
Following the collapse, the injured were rushed to the nearest government hospital for treatment. The tent, which had been temporarily set up for the event, gave way when some attendees attempted to climb onto it, leading to minor injuries for 12 individuals, revealed SP Kumar Ashish. Officials assure that all are out of danger as the investigation continues.
Later in the evening, district police reiterated that 12 people had sustained minor injuries and confirmed that administrative officials are also probing the matter.
