In a recent incident, a 27-year-old social media influencer, Faizan Abdul Zameer Ansari, was detained by the Mumbai Police on Wednesday. Ansari is accused of posting inflammatory content in support of the Kangana Ranaut-starrer 'Emergency,' aiming to fuel discord between the Sikh and Muslim communities.

The police revealed that Ansari's messages, which included a call to protest reportedly organized by the Muslim community, were designed to provoke communal tension. His controversial message claimed that thousands of Mumbai Muslims would gather outside Mahim dargah in support of the film.

The revelation of Ansari's mobile number in the social media post attracted police attention, leading to an FIR being registered against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is ongoing. Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court declined to expedite the censor certification for 'Emergency,' delaying its release originally set for September 6, amid allegations from Sikh organizations of misrepresentation and historical inaccuracies.
