An Indian team comprising 60 participants is gearing up to represent the nation at the WorldSkills Competition, slated to be held in France from September 10-15, according to an official release. This notable event will witness participants from over 70 nations competing in various skill categories.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) held a send-off ceremony for this sizable contingent, referred to as the WorldSkills India Team. The team will showcase their expertise across 61 categories at Euroexpo Lyon, one of the premier venues for such events.

"India's involvement in this global competition aligns with our vision to make the country a central hub for skilled talent," stated the release. The grand event will host over 1,400 competitors and more than 1,300 experts, with an expected participation of 250,000 attendees. Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary extended his best wishes to the team, expressing optimism for their success. At the previous edition in 2022, India finished 11th, and hopes are high for a top-10 finish this year.
