Mahindra Group's premium motorcycle arm, Classic Legends, renowned for brands like Jawa, is set to make waves in the market with the introduction of the new Jawa 42 FJ. The motorcycle, priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, aims to compete with Royal Enfield's Classic 350 and Hunter models. Speaking at the launch event, Group Chairman Anand Mahindra emphasized that stories build brands and that Classic Legends is weaving new narratives with its resurrected and new brands.

Classic Legends, established through a licensing deal in 2016, owns a 60% stake held by Mahindra & Mahindra, while the remaining is shared by Anupam Thareja's Phi Capital and real estate developer Boman Irani. Recently, the company also introduced the BSA motorcycle model God Star and brought back the Jawa and Yezdi brands to India.

Co-founder Anupam Thareja announced plans to open 100 more dealerships, adding to the existing 450, with a target of 600 dealerships by year-end. He highlighted the company's Rs 1,000 crore investment plan, of which Rs 350 crore has already been spent. Despite recent slowdowns, Thareja expressed optimism for a surge in demand around Diwali, predicting substantial growth for the domestic automobile sector.
