Building on 'new anchors' of partnership identified under the India-Singapore ministerial roundtable framework, relations between India and Singapore are set to soar, the MEA announced Monday ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Singapore.

PM Modi is scheduled to visit Singapore on September 4-5 upon the invitation of his Singaporean counterpart, Lawrence Wong. Prior to that, he will visit Brunei on September 3-4 to further strengthen cooperation in existing sectors.

In a media briefing, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs, Jaideep Mazumdar, stated that the visits are timely due to new leadership in Singapore and the significant anniversaries of diplomatic relations. India-Singapore economic and strategic ties have evolved, reflecting robust growth in trade, investment, defence, culture, and education.
