Controversy Erupts Over Shivaji Maharaj's Collapsed Statue

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale criticized the decision to entrust an inexperienced sculptor with the construction of Shivaji Maharaj's statue, which collapsed at Rajkot fort in Sindhudurg district.
Visiting the site, Athawale demanded a detailed investigation and questioned why a novice was given such a significant task. He also urged authorities to involve experts and opposition leaders in finalizing a new statue.
The collapse of the statue, unveiled eight months ago by PM Narendra Modi, has caused public outrage. The Maharashtra government has initiated a probe and plans to rebuild a grand statue befitting Shivaji Maharaj's stature.
