Himachal Pradesh is undergoing fruitful reforms, according to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who dismissed any financial crisis claims. Sukhu mentioned pension arrears being cleared for 27,000 senior citizens and a seven percent increase in Dearness Allowance for government employees.
The state government aims to become self-reliant by 2027 and reach the wealthiest state status by 2032. Sukhu inaugurated the "Master's Universe" exhibition at Shimla's historic Gaiety Theatre, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Russian artist Nicholas Roerich. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with Moscow's International Centre of the Roerichs, will be open until September 25.
Sukhu praised Roerich for his contributions to art and cultural heritage preservation, especially in the Kullu Valley. Roerich's international impact, notably through the 1935 'Roerich Pact,' underscored global cultural safeguarding and peace efforts. Sukhu emphasized the strong India-Russia cultural ties and mutual support throughout history.
