Filmmaker Rima Das' 'Village Rockstars 2,' a sequel to her acclaimed 2017 movie, has been selected to compete for the prestigious Kim Jiseok Award at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) 2024.
The sequel to the National Award-winning 'Village Rockstars,' which premiered at TIFF 2017 and was India's entry to the Academy Awards 2019, is the only Indian film among the eight selected for the Jiseok Competition section at BIFF's 29th edition starting October 2.
Das, recently invited to join the director's branch by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, expressed excitement over the world premiere of 'Village Rockstars 2' at BIFF. The film, exploring Dhunu's bond with her mother and nature, stands as a dedication to talented yet resource-limited young people.
