The creators of the much-discussed film 'Thangalaan' – director Pa Ranjith, actor Chiyaan Vikram, actress Malavika Mohanan, and music director GV Prakash Kumar – delved into the intricate processes and personal experiences involved in bringing this historical epic to the screen. In an interview with ANI, director Pa Ranjith offered insights into the development of 'Thangalaan,' which debuted in South Indian cinemas on August 15 and is set for a Hindi premiere on August 30.

Pa Ranjith highlighted the historical and mythological significance of the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) setting and elaborated on the extensive research undertaken to craft the narrative. 'The writing process was iterative and involved continuous discussions,' Ranjith said. The director emphasized that the film is not solely about the pursuit of gold but also about understanding the people and the rich history of the land.

Actor Chiyaan Vikram expressed his excitement about the project, describing it as potentially his best film to date. Actress Malavika Mohanan discussed the challenges she faced in portraying her character, Aarti, stressing the importance of embodying her role convincingly. Music director GV Prakash Kumar spoke about infusing authentic tribal sounds with a cinematic touch, contributing to the film's emotional and atmospheric depth.

'Thangalaan' explores real-life events at KGF with a blend of historical accuracy and imaginative storytelling. The film, produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios and K.E. Gnanavelraja of Studio Green Films, also features Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathi, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai.
