General Asim Munir, the Chief of the Pakistan Army, underlined the state's obligation to protect its people from the negative impacts of social media during a National Youth Convention held in Islamabad, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Highlighting the importance of a strong bond between the citizens, government, and military, General Munir stressed that this unity is crucial for Pakistan's security and development. He called on the youth to arm themselves with knowledge to stand out and assured them of their value to the nation.

General Munir also dismissed fears of an economic collapse, questioned those who predicted Pakistan's default, and addressed concerns about unrest in the Parachinar tribal region. He expressed optimism about the fight against terrorism, commended the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province's support, and warned against 'digital terrorism' aiming to drive a wedge between state institutions and the people.
