Banerjee, 78, experienced a stroke-like condition and was initially placed in ICU. His condition has since improved, and he has been moved to the general ward.

Veteran Bengali film icon Victor Banerjee has been hospitalised in Mussoorie, Uttarkhand, following severe chest discomfort.

The 78-year-old actor, known for his roles in Satyajit Ray's 'Shatranj ke Khiladi' and Hollywood's 'A Passage to India', experienced a stroke-like condition and was admitted to the ICU on August 14.

Banerjee's health has shown signs of improvement, allowing his transfer to the general ward. His wife remains by his side during his recovery.
