India's Jeev Milkha Singh opened the Zambia Golf Legends Championship with a round of even par 72, positioning him in a tied 19th place. The competition, held at Bonanza Golf Club just outside Lusaka, saw Singh achieving one birdie and one bogey in his initial six holes, parring the rest.

Jeev, who is set to host a Legend Tour event in India next week, ended the day at 19th as 18 players scored under par.

Simon Khan started impressively with a 6-under 66 as he pursued his first Legends Tour victory. Khan, the 2010 BMW PGA Championship winner, carded seven birdies against a single bogey.

Khan, currently 14th on the MCB Road to Mauritius, stands one shot ahead of Patrik Sjoland, last season's Barry Lane Rookie of the Year, who finished with a 67.

Third place is a four-way tie featuring six-time Legends Tour winner Adilson da Silva, major champion Michael Campbell, rookie Scott Drummond, and Kenya's Dismas Indiza Anyonyi.
