Japanese actor Ryoma Takeuchi stars in the highly anticipated television series "Like a Dragon: Yakuza," which premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Oct. 24. The series, adapted from the popular Sega video game, was officially unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con last month.

The show immerses viewers in a gripping crime drama influenced by the Yakuza genre in Japanese cinema. Takeuchi, who plays main character Kazuma Kiryu, emphasized the emotional depth and connection to the original game. 'The emotional core of the drama resonates with the fans,' he said.

Set in a distinctly Japanese context, the series begins with children in an orphanage who steal money from a local mob, leading to lifelong ramifications. Executive producer Erik Barmack and James Farrell from Amazon Studios stressed the importance of cultural authenticity and noted the growing global interest in foreign-language shows.
