Google is intensifying its focus on India by introducing advanced AI tools aimed at dismantling language barriers and improving agricultural practices, according to a senior company official. Abhishek Bapna, Director of Product Management at Google DeepMind, emphasized the critical role of reducing language barriers for India's economic growth.

The tech giant has launched Google Gemini, formerly known as Bard, an artificial intelligence chatbot supporting more than 40 global languages, including nine Indian languages. Bapna stressed the ongoing efforts to enhance language quality and expand support for more Indian languages.

In addition to language advancements, Google is rolling out initiatives to boost India's agricultural sector. One such effort is the Agricultural Landscape Understanding (ALU) Research API, designed to make farming more data-driven and efficient. A pilot program with the Telangana government is currently underway, with plans for broader implementation. These initiatives aim to improve livelihoods and address climate change through strategic technological interventions.
