Ayushmann Khurrana Praises Re-Released 'Laila Majnu' as Box Office Sensation

On Wednesday, Khurrana shared a poster and the song 'Hafiz Hafiz' from 'Laila Majnu' on his Instagram Story, stating his 'obsession' with both the music and the film. He commented, 'Was always obsessed with the soundtrack, but now I am obsessed with the film too. Whatta beauty, Thank you for the purity.' He added, 'Friends kept talking about it, and I don't know how I missed this film.'

The story of 'Laila Majnu' revolves around Qais and Laila, Kashmiri lovers separated by family hostility. Laila marries another man as Qais travels to London. The film stars Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri and is directed by Sajid Ali.

Although the movie initially received a lukewarm response, its soundtrack was a massive hit, winning several awards. The background score was produced by Hitesh Sonik, with lyrics by Mohammad Muneem, Mehmood Gaami, and Irshad Kamil. The songs, composed by Niladri Kumar, Joi Barua, and Alif, earned Niladri Kumar the title of Upcoming Music Composer of the Year at the 2019 Mirchi Music Awards and the RD Burman Award for Upcoming Talent in Film Music at the 64th Filmfare Awards.

In the coming months, Ayushmann Khurrana will appear in Meghna Gulzar's 'Daayra,' alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, produced by Junglee Pictures. An official announcement about the project is awaited. (ANI)
