In Kedarnath, the rescue operations concluded successfully, evacuating over 15,000 individuals after heavy rains triggered landslides, leaving many stranded. Officials confirmed that the last batch of 78 people, including shopkeepers and sadhus, were airlifted to Guptkashi by MI-17 helicopters.
As the evacuation efforts wrapped up, repair work on the damaged roads continued with urgency. Legislators reported that 25 out of 29 affected areas now permit pedestrian movement. The Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has ordered the swift completion of remaining repairs to facilitate the Chardham Yatra's resumption on foot.
Meanwhile, a landslide occurred near a Bhimbali helipad, but proactive measures had ensured the evacuation of individuals, resulting in no casualties or property damage. The government's priority remains to restore normalcy in Kedarnath as soon as possible.
