Despite its initial lukewarm reception, it has since attained a cult following.

The announcement comes days after the film's re-release in Srinagar, celebrating its connection to the region where it was prominently shot. Imtiaz Ali took to Instagram to thank fans for their unwavering support, expressing gratitude that the film could return to theaters six years after its initial release.

The leads, Tiwary and Dimri, have significantly advanced their careers since 'Laila Majnu.' Tiwary recently featured in 'Madgaon Express,' and Dimri is enjoying success with her latest film, 'Bad Newz.' The re-release of 'Laila Majnu' is set for August 9, 2024.
