Enhanced Security Measures for Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Ahead of Independence Day

The security arrangements at the renowned Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, located atop Trikuta hills in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, were meticulously reviewed on Tuesday in preparation for the Independence Day celebrations. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Anshul Garg, led the review, focusing on the operational preparedness for a seamless pilgrimage experience.

Garg highlighted the necessity of fortifying security measures before the Independence Day celebrations, stressing the importance of smooth yatra regulation. He emphasized the need for a robust security framework built on collaborative efforts among stakeholders.

The CEO cited various security strategies, including the issuance and verification of RFID cards, effective crowd management, the augmentation of holding areas, decongestion plans for the track, and continuous surveillance through a dedicated CCTV network of over 700 cameras. Furthermore, disaster management components were reviewed, with directives for regular announcements and joint patrolling. The main Independence Day celebrations will occur at the Shrine Board's Sports Complex in Katra, featuring a March past and cultural program.
