Louis Theroux’s New Documentary: A Provocative Look at Consent and Power

Documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux hopes his latest provocative film 'Tell Them You Love Me' will ignite discussions on consent and sexual assault.

'Tell Them You Love Me,' executive-produced by Theroux and directed by Nick August-Perna, dives deep into the story of Anna Stubblefield, a U.S. university professor, and her controversial relationship with a man with cerebral palsy, leading to her being charged with sexual assault.

Theroux, known for his unflinching documentaries since the 1990s, has partnered with his wife through their production company, Mindhouse, to bring this compelling narrative to light. In an interview, he shared his aspirations for the film, delving into complex themes such as race, sexuality, power dynamics, and disability.

Theroux also discussed future interviews he'd like to conduct, including with notable personalities like Tom Cruise and Kanye West, emphasizing his desire to explore varied and, at times, controversial subjects.
