Flavor Flav Boosts U.S. Women's Water Polo Team's Olympic Bid

The U.S. women's water polo team is setting its sights on a fourth consecutive gold medal in Paris, now with an unexpected supporter—rapper Flavor Flav. The artist has backed their Olympic aspirations, bringing unparalleled attention to the sport.

Earlier this year, Captain Maggie Steffens called for public support, and Flavor Flav responded by sponsoring the team and shining his celebrity spotlight on them. 'He has really opened up the door for different people who would have never heard of the sport of water polo. And that's exactly what sports like us need,' said Steffens.

Flavor Flav's involvement extended further weeks later, inking a five-year sponsorship deal with both the men's and women's teams. His viral pool-training video with the team also garnered significant attention. Goalkeeper Ashleigh Johnson noted the newfound diverse community interest in water polo thanks to this partnership.

The rapper also used his connections to get the team free tickets to a Taylor Swift concert in Paris, enabling them to preview the venue for their competitions. Steffens acknowledged Flav's efforts in securing the tickets, strengthening his role as a key supporter.
