The investigation into the death of prominent US fitness icon Richard Summons, found deceased at his Los Angeles home this weekend, indicates no foul play, a US law enforcement source revealed to PEOPLE magazine. 'The LAPD are not pursuing the investigation as if foul play was involved at this point,' the source confirmed.

Simmons, who celebrated his 76th birthday on Friday, July 12, was discovered by his housekeeper the following day. Reports suggest he fell in his bathroom but declined medical assistance, despite his housekeeper's advice. The next morning, he was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Simmons' brother, Lenny, urged fans to celebrate his legacy rather than mourn his passing. 'I don't want people to be sad about my brother. I want them to remember him for the genuine joy and love he brought to people's lives. He truly cared about people,' he told PEOPLE.

Simmons, who had been away from the public eye for nearly a decade, spoke with PEOPLE two days before his death, expressing gratitude and a continued commitment to helping others. Funeral and memorial arrangements have yet to be announced.
