Shruti Hegde, a doctor from Hubli, Karnataka, has been successfully balancing her career in medicine with her aspirations in beauty pageants since 2018. On June 10, she became India's first Miss Universal Petite, a pageant held annually in Tampa, Florida, USA, for shorter women.

Despite the challenges of her dual careers, Hegde remains committed to both. As an intern and MD dermatology student in Tumakuru, she continues to pursue new experiences. Her journey began with Miss Dharwad in 2018, a contest that taught her valuable life lessons.

Personal setbacks, including surgery for benign tumours in 2019, did not deter Hegde. With support from her mother, she returned stronger, achieving significant milestones, including second runner-up at Miss Asia International India 2023. This win opened doors, leading to acting opportunities in films like 'Sharanara Shakti' and 'Janumadata'.
