Actor Alia Bhatt is in disbelief that her romantic comedy 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' is now a decade old. To mark the occasion, Bhatt shared a special clip showcasing iconic scenes from the film on Thursday via her Instagram story, with the caption, '#10YearsOfHumptySharmaKiDulhania.'
In addition, she re-shared a post from director Shashank Khaitan, who uploaded a throwback picture featuring himself, Bhatt, and co-star Varun Dhawan. Khaitan expressed his gratitude, writing, '10 Years... Wow... Only Gratitude... Thank you Universe.' Dhawan also joined the commemoration by posting a movie poster.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' starred Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in their second collaboration, following their debut in 'Student of the Year' (2012). The film received acclaim for its storyline and soundtrack, particularly Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal's hit song 'Samjhawan.'
In other news, Alia Bhatt is set to headline 'Jigra,' which has a new release date of October 11, 2024. Bhatt will also pair up with Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Love & War,' co-starring Vicky Kaushal. Furthermore, she will star in 'Alpha,' an action film directed by Shiv Rawail, known for 'The Railway Men.'
The title 'Alpha' signifies a significant shift towards featuring strong female leads in YRF's spy universe, a franchise that started with the 'Tiger' series and includes hits like 'War' and 'Pathaan.'
