A posthumous album of unheard recordings by the legendary Qawwali artist, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, promises to mesmerize fans once more. The album, named 'Chain of Light,' is slated for release this September.

Discovered in the archives of Peter Gabriel's Real World Records, this collection of recordings showcases Khan at his finest. 'I've had the privilege to work with a tonne of different musicians from all over the world in my time, but perhaps the greatest singer of them all was Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan,' Gabriel said on the label's website.

While relocating their archives in 2021, Real World Studios unearthed the tapes, buried deep in a warehouse. These recordings find Khan on the verge of his international breakthrough. As Rashid Ahmed-Din, Khan's international manager, remarked, '1990 was a key point in Nusrat's career, it was the beginning of him crossing over into a western audience.' The album captures the essence of this transformative period in his career.
