Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has arrived on Crunchyroll in the UK, and much like its predecessor, it's being released in two cours (or halves), which indicates a total of 24 episodes for this season as well. The good news for fans is that there will only be a brief hiatus between these two cours, ensuring a steady flow of Yuji and Gojo content well into 2024.

The initial arc of JJK Season 2, known as the Hidden Inventory arc, serves as a prequel, shedding light on Gojo's younger years. However, around the 12th episode, at the conclusion of the first cour, there will be a significant time jump. Subsequently, the series will follow Gojo as an adult, alongside his students, during the second cour.

After the completion of the Death Painting arc in Season 1, it was confirmed that Season 2 would adapt Gojo's backstory along with the Shibuya Incident arc. Set in 2006, the first few episodes of this season delve into Gojo's experiences as a student, learning how to combat cursed spirits during his second year.

Manabu Otsuka, the CEO of MAPPA, has expressed that Season 2 is set to be distinct from its predecessor, promising fresh experiences for fans. In an interview with Crunchyroll, he stated, "We would like to leverage that success for Season 2, but we are not going to be doing the same thing and repeat ourselves."

He also conveyed his intention to deliver even greater success and growth in Season 2, keeping fans excited about the evolving storyline.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 6

In Jujutsu Kaisen Season  2 Episode 6, titled "It's Like That," Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara encounter Yuko Ozawa, Yuji's former classmate from junior high. Yuko's appearance has drastically changed, and it becomes evident that she harbors feelings for Yuji. However, her courage to confess only emerges when she believes herself to be good-looking, leading to a bittersweet parting with the trio.

Meanwhile, Mei Mei informs Todo that, as the nominator, he won't accompany Yuji on the upcoming selection mission for Grade 1 promotion. In another subplot, Utahime and Gojo suspect that two individuals are leaking information to Curse Users—one from the higher-ups and one from the student body. The narrative unfolds as they, along with Iori Utahime, approach a room housing Kokichi Muta, one of the suspected moles.

However, the room turns out to be empty, leading to a revelation of a pact between Kenjaku, Mahito, and the real Muta, involving the restoration of his body in exchange for information. After Muta's healing, he engages in a battle with Mahito.

What to expect in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 7

Looking ahead to Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 7, it is expected to conclude the remaining two chapters of the Evening Festival sub-arc and transition into the Shibuya Incident arc. While Episode 6 adhered to a relatively straightforward narrative, the upcoming episodes will tackle the complex and non-linear storytelling of the Shibuya arc.

Navigating this intricate plot structure may pose a challenge for the animators, especially for viewers unfamiliar with the manga. Nonetheless, the allure of the impending battles and the complexity of the storyline are expected to keep audiences engaged.

Fans can also anticipate the return of some beloved characters from Season 1, as well as characters from Gojo's Past arc, and the introduction of new faces. The Shibuya Incident arc promises to be a thrilling ride, with many mysteries yet to be unveiled, including the true extent of Sukuna's power. Anime enthusiasts are in for an exciting journey as Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 unfolds.
