In a recent interview for True to Love (aka Bo-ra! Deborah), Chansung opened up about his personal life and the challenges of playing controversial characters. The actor delighted fans with a heartwarming story about his wife and daughter, while also discussing his approach to balancing family and career.
Back in December 2021, Chansung surprised the public by announcing his marriage and his wife's pregnancy. Despite an age difference of eight years, the couple tied the knot just a year after the announcement. Their bundle of joy arrived in July 2022, bringing immense joy to the new parents.
Navigating the responsibilities of fatherhood and a demanding filming schedule was no easy task for Chansung. However, the actor expressed his gratitude for the fortunate coincidence of his filming scenes often being scheduled on the same day, allowing him to spend quality time at home with his family without frequent disruptions.
When asked about balancing childcare and filming, Chansung expressed his gratitude, saying, “Fortunately, the scenes I need to be in are often scheduled on the same day, so I don’t have to leave home frequently.”

Chansung's recent portrayal of Bora's arrogant ex-boyfriend in a drama drew both praise and criticism from viewers. Reflecting on the response to his performance, the actor shared his wife's supportive reaction, revealing that she commended his acting skills while acknowledging the influx of hate comments directed towards his character.
Prioritizing his family remains Chansung's utmost concern, even on special occasions and holidays. The actor emphasized the significance of family time, stating, "When I return home after fulfilling my professional commitments, I take care of household chores. During weekends, I intentionally keep my schedule free, dedicating that time solely to my wife and children." Chansung also humorously expressed his hope that his daughter would inherit her mother's physique rather than his own.
Interestingly, Chansung decided to decline an offer to appear on a variety show alongside his daughter. When asked about it, he explained his belief in allowing his child to make her own choices. The actor expressed that if she decides to pursue television appearances in the future, he would fully support her. However, for now, he does not wish to impose such decisions on her at a young age.
“I believe it should be my daughter’s choice, not mine. If she decides to do so in the future, I would support her, but I didn’t want to make that decision for her. For now, I don’t have any plans to have my child go on TV.”
Chansung's commitment to his family and his thoughtful approach to his daughter's future is commendable. As he continues to navigate his career and personal life, fans can look forward to seeing more of his versatile acting skills and his unwavering dedication to fatherhood.
