In a move to bolster student safety, the Delhi Directorate of Education has mandated that both government and private schools adhere strictly to prescribed safety guidelines.

According to a circular issued by the directorate, school heads must ensure that their institutions comply with a checklist provided by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). This checklist aims to fix accountability and promote safety and security within school premises.

The directive further instructs schools to follow safety standards set by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for educational hostels. Additionally, the Ministry of Education's 2021 safety guidelines, aligned with Supreme Court and National Education Policy directives, must be implemented.
