Schools in Assam's Kamrup Metropolitan district, encompassing Guwahati city, are set to revert to their regular timings from Tuesday as temperatures dip following recent rain.
The District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) has rescinded the September 20 notification that altered school timings to counter severe heatwave conditions, establishing the new timings from 7.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Following a drop in temperatures due to the rain, the DEEO instructed that all government, provincialised, and private schools in Kamrup Metro district resume normal school hours from October 1, 2024. The earlier notification also led to school closures from September 24 to 27, which has now been revoked.
