Students from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) in Patiala protested against their vice-chancellor on Sunday evening, accusing him of violating the privacy of female students during a surprise hostel check.
The protest, which took the form of a 'dharna' outside the vice-chancellor's on-campus residence, saw students rallying for their rights to privacy.
Complaints from the students highlighted that the vice-chancellor, accompanied by female faculty and guards, allegedly questioned the girls' dressing sense, prompting the protest. University authorities were not immediately available for comment.
