A third-year Computer Science student from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati was discovered dead in his hostel room on Monday, according to police reports.
The deceased, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, was found in his room at Brahmaputra Hostel. Authorities have launched an investigation, and the body has been sent for postmortem examination. This incident marks the fourth student death at IITG this year; a female student was found hanging in her room on August 9.
A spokesperson for IITG expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended heartfelt condolences to the student's family and friends.
