The Odisha government has unveiled an ambitious plan to set up model schools in each panchayat of the state, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Thursday during a Teacher's Day event.

These model schools, named after Odisha's first Education Minister Godabarisha Mishra, aim to enhance the quality of education across the state's more than 6,700 panchayats.

Additionally, the 'Madho Singh Haath Kharch Yojana' will provide Rs 5,000 per year to each tribal student, benefiting around 3 lakh ST students and addressing dropout rates.

Majhi reaffirmed the state government's commitment to aligning with the National Education Policy 2020 while emphasizing the evolution of culture-based education.
