The National Teachers Awards celebrated the achievements of 82 educators who have made significant contributions to the field of education. The awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday.

Among the honorees was Chandralekha Damodar Mestri from South Goa, recognized for her efforts in bridging the language gap for first-generation learners through innovative teaching aids and home visits. Sagar Chittaranjan Bagade from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, was honored for organizing social events to raise awareness on issues affecting marginalized groups and providing students with international exposure through folk dance performances.

K Suma from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands was awarded for improving school infrastructure and promoting health and wellness through yoga. Minakshi Kumari from Bihar was recognized for engaging parents in school outcomes and advocating against child marriage. Other notable awardees include Hukam Chand Chaudhary from Rajasthan for his project-based teaching methods and Pallavi Sharma from New Delhi for her initiatives supporting visually impaired students.
