Goa Aims for 100% Literacy by Year-End
The Goa government is reviewing the New India Literacy Mission to achieve full state literacy by December 19. In a significant push to achieve complete literacy by year-end, the Goa government will review the New India Literacy Mission (NILM), an official revealed. The deadline is December 19.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has instructed senior panchayat and municipal officials to submit lists of illiterate residents or certify areas as fully literate. Sawant led a National Education Policy (NEP) steering committee meeting, focusing on NILM and NEP execution.
The state curriculum framework for foundational and secondary stages has been officially sanctioned, with art and vocational education being integrated into schools. Additionally, 80 math and science teachers received training at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
