The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has announced the launch of a 'Reading Campaign' across all government schools in Delhi to celebrate 'Literacy Week' and instill a strong reading habit among students.

The campaign, as outlined in a circular by SCERT Joint Director Nahar Singh, will commence on Tuesday and continue until Saturday. The initiative will include students from pre-nursery to class five, engaging them in various reading-related activities.

Each day of the campaign will start with a storytelling session during the morning assembly. Activities such as independent reading, creative expression, buddy reading, and story card reading sessions will follow. Notably, on Teachers' Day, September 5, older students will be paired with pre-nursery students for a buddy reading session, while parents will participate in a special reading session on September 7. Throughout the week, digital reminders will be sent to parents to encourage reading at home, creating a supportive environment for their children, according to the circular.
