The Data Security Council of India (DSCI), supported by the British High Commission, began a four-month cyber awareness drive in 15 schools across Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. The 'Cyber for YOUth' initiative aims to educate 5,000 students, teachers, and school administrators in Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, and Chattarpur on the basics of cyber safety and digital hygiene.

DSCI CEO Vinayak Godse said the program seeks to help young students view cyberspace as an avenue for knowledge and growth, rather than a threat. Supported by the British High Commission as part of the India-UK Cyber Programme, the initiative aims to build a stronger bilateral cybersecurity partnership.

Anand Krishnan, ISF India Cyber Programme Advisor, highlighted the surge in digital adoption and cybercrime, stressing that collective efforts are necessary to address international cybersecurity issues. DSCI, a not-for-profit industry body set up by nasscom, collaborates with various governmental and non-governmental entities for public advocacy, capacity building, and outreach initiatives.
