A Delhi court is set to determine next week whether Rau's IAS Study Circle can regain access to its Old Rajender Nagar premises, which became the scene of a tragic incident in July when three UPSC aspirants died after rainwater flooded its basement.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Nishant Garg scheduled the decision for August 28 following the conclusion of arguments from the advocates involved in the case. Rau's IAS Study Circle CEO Abhishek Gupta urged the court to allow access to ensure the continuation of classes.

Senior advocate Rebecca John, representing Gupta, argued that preventing access to the building would disrupt students' education, and contested the CBI's authority to prohibit entry. The CBI highlighted safety concerns, noting the basement was improperly used as a library, posing ongoing risks.

Questions about compliance with safety norms and the legality of sealing the building's upper floors were also raised. Additionally, the court criticized the CBI for retaining Manoj Kathuria's SUV involved in the incident and ordered a review of the situation by IIT-Delhi experts.
